Pressure mounts on Italian football to abandon Supercoppa plans

Italian football is facing growing pressure to abandon plans to host next week's Super Cup final between AC Milan and Juventus in Saudi Arabia after Serie A's Qatari broadcasting rights holders 'beIN Sport' wrote to the league and demanded that the match is relocated.  The match had already been criticised by the country's right-wing deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini, who was opposed to the Saudi stadium rules that dictate women cannot sit beside men in certain sections.  Amnesty International have already urged Juventus and Milan to ditch the fixture following the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, which attracted global condemnation last year.
