Tao Geoghegan Hart claimed victory at the Tour of the Alps on Friday, the Ineos Grenadiers rider topping a British one-two with second-placed Hugh Carthy of EF Education-EasyPost.

Geoghegan Hart, the 2020 Giro d’Italia winner, was able to keep pace with his rivals on the fifth stage of the race to Brunico, Italy, and despite finishing over four minutes behind the stage winner Simon Carr – another British rider – held on to overall victory by 22 seconds.
