Everton have agreed a £25m deal with Napoli to sign Brazilian midfielder Allan. Allan is a player that manager Carlo Ancelotti knows well, having worked with him during his stint in Naples. The Merseysiders are also continuing talks to bring Colombian James Rodriguez to Goodison Park as Ancelotti looks to add star quality to his squad. Ancelotti made it clear at the end of last season he was eager for reinforcements across his side. Everton ended last season in disappointing form and badly need quality additions - Allan should be the first of several recruits before the start of the season. He has spent the last eight years in Italian football and has also represented his country. Ancelotti needs him to improve his midfield options. A deal for Rodriguez is also possible, with talks ongoing for another player Ancelotti has previously worked with.
