It used to be, as per Chas & Dave, lucky for Spurs when the year ended in one. Eight of their 14 major domestic gongs – including two old First Divisions and eight FA Cups – have come in such circumstances and the accolades have been neatly distributed since their first cup success in 1901. From Bill Nicholson to Terry Venables, Ossie Ardiles, Harry Redknapp and Mauricio Pochettino, the emphasis has been on an attacking style. It almost brought a Champions League in 2019; Mourinho is more pragmatic but would be forgiven if he landed them a first major trophy since the 2008 League Cup. What digit does 2021 end with, again?
