Hibernian Women Head Coach Grant Scott is "really proud" of his side as the sealed their spot in the Sky Sports Cup Final.

Eilidh Adams netted in between two Ciara Grant strikes to secure a commendable 3-0 victory over an Aberdeen outfit that proved difficult to break down at Meadowbank Stadium.

The Hibees struggled in the first half and were unable to penetrate the Reds' hardy defence, but Grant's opener just before half-time allows the girls to settle and clinch a place in the cup final with two goals coming in the final 15 minutes of the tricky tie.

"I'm really proud of the group," Scott told Hibs TV.

"It was a tough match as we expected. There are a lot of improvements in the Aberdeen side.

"I didn’t think we were at our fluent best today, but credit to the players. They did not default to doing different things. We stuck to who we are.

"The opponent made it very difficult, but cup ties are all about progressing to the next round and we have done that.

"I’m delighted for the players, the staff, everyone involved, and the Football Club. We have a nice occasion to look forward to."

There was two crucial goals for the energetic midfielder Grant, which pleased Scott after he recently made an alteration to her game to benefit the team.

"Ciara is doing really well just now. She is playing a slightly different role at the minute, one she wasn’t brought here to do. We’ve had a slight laugh about that between us.

"[Her goals] shows her game intelligence. She has twice read a situation where we’ve hit areas in the box and the delivery has taken it elsewhere, and she’s got there at the back post on two occasions.

"She is smart player. A great person in our squad. A model pro. We are delighted to have her."

With their simultaneous victory over arch-rivals Celtic, Jo Potter's Rangers also secured their hard-earned spot in the Final.

We will face the Glasgow outfit on Saturday, 22 March 2025 at a venue still to be confirmed.

"I have a lot of respect for Rangers and their manager," Scott said. "They have done good things over the last couple years.

"They are [in the Final] again and are defending their trophy well. It’s one for us to look forward to."
