THE LOWDOWN

There’s a break from league action as David Gray and his side look to progress further in this prestigious cup competition.

His side beat Clydebank 3-0 at Easter Road in the Fourth Round with Martin Boyle scoring twice either side of a Rudi Molotnikov goal.

The Hibees come into Friday night’s game in good form after being Aberdeen 2-0 last weekend. That victory has stretched the Club’s unbeaten run to 10 outings! Gray’s men have only lost once in their last 13 games in all competitions.

This match is the first of eight Scottish Cup ties that are taking place over the course of the weekend.

TEAM NEWS

Unfortunately, this game will come too soon for Joe Newell, Elie Youan and Marvin Ekpiteta who are all working their way back from injury.

New signing Alasana Manneh received his international clearance and visa last week and has been training with his teammates, however, Gray announced that he is unlikely to be match-fit for the weekend.

THE HOSTS

Our opponents Ayr United have also been in fantastic form of late, currently sitting top of the William Hill Championship. They are one point ahead of Falkirk, who have a game-in-hand.

Managed by former Hibee Scott Brown, ‘The Honest Men’ have won their last five games, beating Hamilton Academical 2-0 away from home last weekend.
